How It Works

Diagnose. Decide. Deliver.

Three phases, each with a defined scope, specific deliverables, and a clear outcome. You engage at the phase that matches where you are. You never pay for work you don't need.

Diagnose

Flight Check · Operational Assessment

2–3 weeks
Outcome

You know exactly what's working, what isn't, and whether software is even the right next step. Either way, you leave with a 90-day improvement roadmap.

Before recommending any software, we look at your operation. We visit your facility (or work remotely), map your current pick paths, receiving process, and replenishment cycles, and establish a KPI baseline. Many problems that look like software problems are actually process problems, and fixing the process first is always cheaper.

What happens in this phase
  1. 01Kickoff call to align on scope and priorities
  2. 02Facility walkthrough or remote process review
  3. 03Heat-map and travel-time observation
  4. 04KPI baselining: picks per hour, accuracy, cycle count rates
  5. 05Findings report delivery and prioritized action plan

Phase 02 · FP-002

Decide

Flight Plan · System Selection

4–8 weeks
Outcome

A documented, defensible system selection with scoring rationale. Not a gut call or a vendor relationship.

With a clear picture of your operation, we translate your requirements into vendor-ready specifications and run the selection process on your behalf. We score vendors objectively, facilitate demos with structured scripts, and produce a recommendation memo you can take to your board. We don't have a preferred vendor. We have a preferred outcome: the right system for your specific operation.

What happens in this phase
  1. 01Requirements specification in vendor-neutral language
  2. 02Vendor shortlist (typically 3–5 platforms)
  3. 03Demo facilitation with structured scoring criteria
  4. 04Side-by-side scoring matrix
  5. 05Recommendation memo and contract review support

Deliver

Tower Control · Implementation Oversight

8–16+ weeks
Outcome

An implementation that stays on scope, on schedule, and actually delivers the capabilities you evaluated in selection.

Implementation is where most WMS projects fail. Not because the software is bad, but because the project loses structure. We act as your independent project advocate: coordinating stakeholders, tracking milestones, identifying risk before it becomes delay, and preparing your floor team for cutover. The implementation partner handles technical configuration. We handle everything that keeps the project honest.

What happens in this phase
  1. 01Project plan and milestone schedule
  2. 02Regular cadence calls with notes and action items
  3. 03Risk log, maintained and reviewed every call
  4. 04User acceptance testing plan and facilitation
  5. 05Cutover checklist and go-live support

Start with the phase you need.

Every phase is a complete, standalone engagement. Begin where you are, and add the next phase only if and when it makes sense.

Common questions

Do I have to go through all three phases?

No. Each phase is a standalone engagement. Many clients start with a Flight Check to see if software is even the right answer. Others come already in selection mode and go straight to Flight Plan, or just need Tower Control oversight on a system they've selected.

How is this different from a VAR or implementation partner?

A VAR earns revenue from selling and implementing a specific vendor's product, so its recommendation is structurally biased. InventoryATC has no software to sell and earns nothing from any vendor. We work only for you.

Do you implement the software?

No. We're advisors and project advocates, not implementers. The selected ISV or its certified partner handles technical configuration. We handle everything that keeps the project on track and your interests protected.

A Flight Check is a fast, low-commitment way to get an independent picture of where your operation stands and what to do next.
